Meet the SLP

Mrs. Pam Franklin

Mission Statement:

My mission is to help students communicate in a manner that positively impacts their productive participation within the learning, home, local community, and global environment.

I received both a Bachelor of Science Degree and a Master of Science Degree in Speech and Hearing Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I also hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech and Hearing Association, an Indiana State Professional License as a Speech-Language Pathologist, and an Indiana State Professional Educator's License in the area of Communication Disorders.

I began my career as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the suburban Chicago area working with K-8 grade students in several schools. Following a family transfer to Wisconsin, my next experience was as a fully integrated Speech-Language Therapist in a special needs pre-school program in the Milwaukee area. I was extremely fortunate to be able to spend some time at home taking care of my family. Another transfer brought us to Fort Wayne and I am excited to be providing speech and language services at both Deer Ridge and Woodside.

Family and Hobbies:

My husband, Joe, and I have 3 children. Andy is 21 and a Senior at Indiana University with plans for law school, Emma is 19 and an IU Freshman (studying speech and hearing science!) , and Jack is 16 and a Sophomore at Homestead. As a family we enjoy visiting family and friends across the Midwest and attending college and high school sporting events. At Big 10 college events we still have not decided whether to wear Orange and Blue or Crimson and Cream! Our Homestead life revolves around wrestling, wrestling and more wrestling!
